ACE and E5 Annual Partner meet-up

Each May we have an annual partner meet-up at the University of Edinburgh to discuss ideas for projects

Annual partner meet-up

In May each year, ACE and E5 partners get together to share their current research priorities and explore what projects they might propose together, from PhD student projects to consortia grants to address major challenges.

Supported by our postgraduate and research development teams, it’s a great opportunity not only to hear about what all our partners are currently doing, but to make connections and remind ourselves of all the expertise we have on our doorstep in the Edinburgh ecosystem of research organisations and partners.

We had talks from the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (UKCEH), Biomathematics and Statistics Scotland (BIOSS), Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), NatureScot,  Royal Botanic gardens Edinburgh, Forest Research, British Geological Society, Dynamic Earth as well as the Schools of Biological Sciences, Geosciences, Chemistry at the University.

Other partners were in attendance and those that couldn’t make it on the day sent slides for sharing to highlight what they are doing and how they would like to collaborate. If you’d like to find out more go to our partners page on the website.

We will meet again in May next year and there is an open invitation to anyone from our organisations to come along, make connections and discuss ideas. If you can’t wait till then, then contact our research development team (environmental.change@ed.ac.uk) and we’ll happily connect you up.
