Grant writing workshops to support ACE members

ACE can help it's members with grant writing. Our workshops are one way we can do this.

Grant writing workshops to support ACE members

Trying to carve out time to write grants, get feedback, and ask all the questions you need to ask of the research support and development teams while still getting on with the day to day running your lab/being in the field/teach/review/manage and support your team etc can be a challenge!

Following our UKRI grant writing workshop, we hosted the first of our grant writing sessions where we book somewhere (nice!) where you can come and focus on writing with peers doing the same, with set points for peer-to-peer feedback on your pitch and support from team members that have sat on grant panels and know the process your grant application will go though.

ACE members got together to share ideas, get feedback and discuss roadblocks they're having with their proposals. The session provided a focused environment where they could work distraction-free. After the summer break these will be a monthly ACE occurrence to give people the support needed to write successful proposals. These are open to all members of our ACE partners and if you want some help finding expertise for potential collaborations across the partnership we can help with that too. If you’re interested in being kept up to date with when these will next be running, drop us an email on environmental.change@ed.ac.uk.
